The Factory Manager / Plant Manager will be responsible for establishing and leading precast concrete manufacturing operations by transforming existing equipment assets into a quality-driven production facility.
The role involves implementing ISO 9001-aligned processes, achieving SON/NIS certifications, integrating Terra Pave technology, and building a production team capable of delivering “zero-damage, guaranteed” products. This position is central to ensuring operational reliability and product quality.

Key responsibilities
Production and operations management

Commission and optimize existing equipment.

Implement a phased refurbishment program based on technical audit findings.

Develop production schedules for electric poles (8m, 10m, 12m), culverts (600–1500mm), kerbs, interlocking stones, sandcrete blocks, gutters, and drainage elements.

Achieve targeted capacity utilization.
-
Apply lean manufacturing principles and 5S methodology.
Quality management system

Establish and lead a quality control laboratory with defined testing protocols.

Enforce strict compliance with curing and production standards.
-
Achieve SON/NIS certification for electric poles within the specified timeline.

Implement an ISO 9001:2015-aligned quality management system.
-
Maintain product rejection rates below 2%.
-
Develop traceability systems for all production batches.

Conduct regular audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Technical and maintenance management

Oversee execution of technical audit recommendations.

Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs.

Manage equipment refurbishment and upgrade projects.

Maintain equipment performance records and history.

Ensure availability of critical spare parts.

Integrate Terra Pave technology into production processes.

Cost management and efficiency

Drive reduction in cost of goods sold (COGS).

Optimize raw material usage, including cement, aggregates, and steel.

Minimize waste and implement recycling of rejected materials.

Monitor production costs against budget targets.

Manage inventory for raw materials and finished goods.

Provide monthly reports on production KPIs and cost performance.
Professional qualifications
Essential requirements
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

COREN registration (mandatory); NSE membership is an advantage.

7–10 years of experience in manufacturing management, including at least 3 years in precast concrete or related construction materials.
-
Strong knowledge of concrete technology, mix design, curing processes, and quality testing.
-
Experience implementing ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.
-
Proven expertise in maintenance and equipment reliability programs.
-
Safety certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent.
-
Experience with batch plants, molds, vibrating tables, and curing chambers.
-
Proficiency in English for effective communication.
Desirable qualifications

Experience with advanced concrete technologies.

Background in startup or turnaround manufacturing environments.

Knowledge of SON/NIS certification processes for concrete products.

Experience in electric pole production and NEMSA requirements.
